Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) Sensor Repairs – Poole

What is a NOx sensor?

The NOx sensor in your car monitors the levels of nitrogen oxide that the engine emits to make sure that the vehicle complies with emissions regulations. Similar to all vehicle components, NOx sensors are subject to wear and tear and at some point, they may fail and have to be replaced. The most common cause of NOx sensor failure is a build-up of soot which prevents the sensor from sending out a signal. This will cause a warning light to come on in your dashboard, and at that point, it’s time to call Poole Bay Garage.

When your car comes into our workshop in Poole, we’ll scan the ECU for error codes to ensure that it is actually the NOx sensor that has caused the engine management light to come on. Once that’s established, we can replace the sensor for you. There is also the option of using a refurbished sensor which won’t have the same lifespan as a brand new one but can be a more cost-effective option. Get in touch with our team for more information.
